VVF Gent is the largest regional section of VVF East-Flanders. VVF Gent was founded in 1964 and has grown ever since.

Some 500 people are subscribed to our threemonthly magazine 'GENTSE CADENAS'.

The working area is the region of Ghent: Afsnee - Asper - Baaigem - Balegem - Beervelde - Bottelare - De Pinte - Destelbergen - Desteldonk - Deurle - Dikkelvenne - Drongen - Gavere - Gent - Gentbrugge - Gijzenzele - Gontrode - Heusden - Landskouter - Ledeberg - Lochristi - Mariakerke - Melle - Melsen - Mendonk - Merelbeke - Moortsele - Munte - Oostakker - Oosterzele - Schelderode - Scheldewindeke - Semmerzake - Sint-Amandsberg - Sint-Denijs-Westrem - Sint-Martens-Latem - Sint-Kruis-Winkel - Vurste - Wachtebeke - Wondelgem - Zaffelare - Zelzate - Zeveneken - Zevergem - Zwijnaarde.

Activities for genealogy, heraldry, reading old writing and using soft-ware are held regularly in Gent and in the VVF-Center Melle. New themes, projects and activities are presented ; people can meet and discuss their genealogical problems.

The study-club Digital Archive is indexing and publishing public registers and personal genealogical databases.
